v-day

i'm functioning under a greater-than-normal recognition of love today, but i find that that statement is more of a confession than it is anything else. every day i should recognize, give and radiate love.

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails. [1 corinthians 13]

sure, i have a valentine, as if the sense of the word is referring to some sort of a romantic reference to the man that i love-- my fiancé, blare. BUT every day i love him-- every day i choose to love him based off of the idea that paul writes for us in this verse.

bigger-- paul is referring to love in a much wider sense.

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. [romans 5:8]

what greater love can there be? i know who i love today. ultimately, my desire, my understanding, my philosophy if you will, ON love... is based off of the identity that i found in my savior Jesus Christ. sacrificial love- love that chooses to give up- love that gives everything... that's how i choose to love. my desire is to do this every day, and not just on a day like today <where the red and pink illuminate> it's bigger than that.

happy valentine's day.
